Spotlight

Between Here and Help with Nicole Ringgold - Episode 2

Join our Network Director for a behind-the-scenes look at how our network supports aging in the Methow Valley. This episode explores what we do, why we exist, and how collaboration between local partners helps improve access to care, resources, and support for individuals and families.

  • The Methow Valley Elder Care Coordination Network (the Network) is a coalition of social and medical service providers and volunteers working to better support our aging community. The Network develops and sustains rurally relevant practices, programs, facilities, and the workforce needed to implement a community-based model of long-term care coordination for adults aged 65+ in the Methow Valley.

The Methow Valley’s available health care and social service organizations share common goals - the Network creates the formal processes and provides the corresponding resources to encourage consistent collaboration.

The Network consists of seven Network Member organizations.

    1. Jamie's Place Adult Family Homes

    2. Family Health Centers (Twisp Clinic)

    3. Methow At Home / Lookout Coalition

    4. Methow Valley School District (Liberty Bell H.S. & Independent Learning Center)

    5. Room One

    6. Aero Methow Rescue Service

    7. Confluence Health (Winthrop Clinic)

  • Our coalition of local organizations work together to share resources, host events, and communicate without silos - focusing on the most vulnerable, at-risk residents of the Methow Valley.

Our work is centered around five main objectives:

    1. Run the Network - Meeting the federal requirements to successfully utilize the grant.

    2. Caregiver Workforce - Supporting and expanding a caregiver workforce in our community through recruitment, training, and retention strategies.

    3. Aging at Home - Support adults 65+ in our community to remain in their homes safely and independently for as long as possible and provide guidance and support when a transition to supportive living becomes necessary.

    4. Care Coordination - Build and sustain a coordinated system of care that supports adults 65+ in our community.

    5. Support Housing Options - Plan for and support the development of supported housing for adults 65+ who cannot safely live at home.
